A little reality blogging
Lest this blog has ever given the impression that we live in a constant state of spotless domestic bliss, let me share the current state of our kitchen sink and surrounding areas:
I could complete this with a house tour featuring basketloads of unfolded laundry, unmade beds, a living room floor strewn with toy cars and in desperate need of vacuuming, and the last bag from our trip that still needs to be unpacked and put away. To name but a few.
Just a little reminder from me that while some mornings are filled with sunshiny walks and clean, beautiful toddlers, others are filled with mountains of dishes, pants that don't fit and little boys that throw themselves screaming onto the floor at the mere mention of nap time.
If we're going to compare ourselves to each other, let's at least make it an honest comparison: I haven't done dishes since Thursday - anyone better?
And yet, somehow, I am in the living room blogging. |

I think Thursday is the day I started up doing dishes again after maybe 5 days off. Thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteMy FAVORITE part of this post had to be the caption where you said "and somehow, I am in the living room blogging." Our house was growing things last week. I do not actually have visual proof of it, but I'm certain it was happening. So I cleaned all morning Wednesday. Now? Doesn't look like I did a thing. Sigh. Oh well, at least we can all commiserate together, right?!
ReplyDeleteAwwwww, now I don't feel so alone in my messy house!! Have you started using paper plates yet?? I've had to do that before when washing dishes just wasn't going to happen.
ReplyDeleteThis post was awesome and I loved it. :)
Last week I KILLED myself cleaning...and for what?...The place looks like a tornado hit today. Some days I just want to give up!!! Thank you for your honesty.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Joanne
My bubble has been burst and I don't think I'll ever recover. :P
ReplyDeleteThank you for this. I just had to do an arm-clear to move all the bottles of bubbles, coloring books, and random clutter to make room for my laptop. Glad to know I am not the only one!
ReplyDelete:-D We all do have our days, don't we. It's nice to be reminded.
